An adaptive method for accurate sharing of harmonic and unbalanced loads in islanded microgrids

In this paper, a method is proposed for accurate sharing of harmonic and unbalanced loads in islanded microgrids. The proposed method can adaptively improve the load sharing among distributed generation (DG) units based on the circulating currents rules and harmonic and unbalanced powers provided by each DG. Compared with previous methods, the proposed method does not require a dedicated central controller, and communications are only required among adjacent DGs. Moreover, in this method, there is no need to know the values of the impedance of the DGs feeder and the loading condition, and the effect of the proposed method on the quality of the DGs output voltage is less. The design process of the proposed method is fully described, and in order to demonstrate its efficiency, studies on the simulation have been performed on a sample islanded microgrids in MATLAB/Simulink environment.
